The four-person layout gives every sailor an active role on board. The helm manages course and direction, while the mainsail and jib trimmers work together to control sail shape. Through repeated coordination, the crew develops a better understanding of wind conditions, boat speed and the timing of each manoeuvre. That clear division of roles makes the 19R useful not only as an introductory sailing platform, but also as a training tool for developing the fundamentals of crewed racing. 

A Complete Sail Plan for Progressive Learning

The 19R carries: Mainsail: 13.00 m² Jib: 8.45 m² Gennaker: 28.91 m²

The full sail plan covers both upwind and downwind sailing, giving crews the opportunity to practise hoists, tacks, gybes, gennaker handling and sail trim rather than limiting the experience to simple cruising. 

Lifting T-Keel for Greater Flexibility

The Fareast 19R features a 1.20 m lifting T-keel, giving owners greater flexibility when planning around local waters and storage conditions. Draft requirements, launching arrangements, transport and storage can all be considered as part of the operating setup, allowing the boat to fit more naturally into different environments.
