2002:

Du Yingying and Lu Weifeng couple founded Mayi in Shanghai with 300000 yuan starting capital. In the same year, they obtained the production certification of OPTIMIST-class sailing boats from the International Sailing Federation and became the designated supplier of Qingdao Asian Championship.

 

2003-2005

Annual sales increased rapidly from 230 to 1200. Six of the top ten in the 2005 OP World Championships came from Mayi, and the founder made the oath of "being the first in the world in three years" and fulfilled it.

Startup (2002-2005)

2008:

Named Exclusive Technical Support Supplier for the Beijing Olympics Sailing events; became the world's largest Optimist manufacturer, reaching a global market of 25 countries.

 

2010

Supplied 234 flag boats for the Shanghai World Expo and sailing gear for the Guangzhou Asian Games. Launched the FE26 at Boot Düsseldorf, marking our official entry into the keelboat market. Opened our new Qidong (Jiangsu) manufacturing facility.

Scale Expansion (2006-2010)

2015:

The FE28R earned World Sailing certification as Asia's first international one-design class, shattering the Western monopoly in this sector. Simultaneously, the "2016–2020 Global OP Development Support Plan" was unveiled.

Global Breakthroughs (2011–2015)

2016:

Founded the International FE28R Class Association under President Yingying Du, marking China's first voice in international sailing governance.

 

2017:

Held the 1st FE28R World Championship in Sweden.

 

2020:

Recognized as the 38th class at Germany's Kiel Week; cumulative sales exceeded 500 boats.

Event Dominance (2016–2020)

2021:

Renamed to "Shanghai Far East Composites Technology Co., Ltd."; FE28R selected as the official boat for the World Match Racing Tour Shenzhen Finals.

 

2023:

Unveiled China's first all-electric offshore catamaran (FE42C), entering the multi-billion-dollar leisure boating market.

 

2025:

Global impact surges: Supplied all 138 boats for the ILCA 7 Worlds in Qingdao and 115 of the 256 boats at the OP Euros. Products reached 93 countries with over 22,000 cumulative deliveries, capturing ~75% of the domestic mid-sized keelboat market.
